Why Should You Attend:
Employers obtain and store employees’ personal information, including social security numbers, addresses, bank account information, family members’ identities, and health information. This “PII” – personally identifiable information – is valuable to hackers and data thieves. Is your organization doing enough to keep employee PII safe and secure? If you use vendors to provide payroll, insurance, or other human resources support, are your vendors keeping your employees’ PII safe? Employers can be legally liable for mishandling PII. If a data breach occurs and PII is accessed, employers must comply with laws that require notification. And remedial action.
This webinar is designed to alert employers to legal requirements related to PII security, as well as employer obligations following a breach. It will cover topics such as data breach notification laws, internal and external resources for data security issues, role of vendors in protecting PII and more.
