Financial arrangements that exist between physicians and healthcare providers (e.g., hospitals) to which they refer patients have been the focus of Office of Inspector General and other regulatory agencies for quite some time. The extent of such arrangements between physicians and healthcare providers impact utilization of services, quality of care, medical necessity, cost and pricing and competitiveness. As organizations continue to negotiate financial relationships with physicians, organizing and streamlining the executed contracts should be a priority to demonstrate the organization’s commitment to mitigating risk and complying with Stark Law, the Anti-kickback statute, the False Claims Act (FCA), and IRS tax-exemption code.
This webinar has a legal and regulatory focus and will assist the attendees in understanding effortless ways to bring all the physician financial arrangements (e.g., medical director and professional services/on-call agreements, space and equipment leases, employment agreements, management agreements, physician practice acquisitions, and other arrangements) together into a centralized location. Simple examples will be shared as guidance for attendees to maintain supporting documentation such as fair market value (FMV) and commercial reasonableness with the executed agreements as well as how to validate key terms are documented within the executed arrangement.

Her experience includes but is not limited to managed care, a multi-health system, community hospital, behavioral health, and physician practice management.
She earned a doctor of health administration degree from Central Michigan University. An alumnus of Loyola University of Chicago and University of Dallas, she obtained a BBA in accounting and MBA in healthcare administration, respectively. She is a certified Green Belt Six Sigma, Healthcare Compliance, and Health Safety Professional.
