Why Should You Attend:
Ions are dissolved, electrically charged chemical species. They fall within one or another of two categories, cations or positively-charged ions and anions or negatively-charged ions. Many ions are quite common or quite important. For example, water salinity is determined by the dissolved amount of salt in the sample. Salt dissolves to form the positive sodium cation and the negative chloride anion. Another example is the carcinogenic chromium (VI) ions, most typically the anions chromate and dichromate. Other forms of chromium are not carcinogen and of no health concern, but can interfere in a determination for chromium (VI). A method such as ion chromatography can determine chromium (VI) levels without these interferences. This webinar will cover separating ions in an analysis that can differentiate various ions from each other.
Analysis of ions by ion chromatography can be a challenged that depends on which ions must be looked for and what level of detection must be seen for each. Additionally, the sample type, the matrix, can greatly affect the analysis. This webinar will describe the various types of ion chromatography, their strengths and weaknesses, their applications.
Areas Covered in the Webinar:
Who Will Benefit:
