Why Should You Attend:
Accidents occur in the workplace for a variety of reasons, foremost among them is a failure to recognize hazards in the workplace that can cause accidents. An awareness of hazards and the ability to identify and either eliminate them or protect workers from exposure to these hazards is a key element in the reduction of workplace hazard injuries.
Such analyses are required by law when potential workplace hazards , either in the form of chemical risks, risks from equipment or working conditions, exist. Failure to recognize and catalogue workplace hazards can lead to increased inspections from regulatory agencies, as well as the potential for fines from agencies like OSHA.
This webinar will discuss the key principles of hazard recognition and practical techniques for hazard identification in the workplace. Real world situations will be used to demonstrate and support the presentation. We will then discuss how they can be used in a meaningful way to develop methods and strategies for elimination or mitigation of identified hazards.

Topic Background:
OSHA requires that every workplace be free of recognized hazards that may result in worker injury and illness. In order to comply with this requirement, each workplace must perform a hazard evaluation . This evaluation needs to be ongoing, as workplace conditions often change, including the introduction of new materials, chemicals and equipment.
Workers are often unable to properly identify and categorize these hazards. Frequently, they are not able to reduce of mitigate these hazards due to lacvk of experience or lack of knowledge on how to clearly identify and classify workplace hazards.
It is therefore important that workers, managers and supervisors, as well as those responsible for safety are able to identify hazards in the workplace. They must also recognize that there may be resistance to hazard identification and mitigation for a number of reasons.
This webinar will assist personnel in understanding these concerns while performing meaningful and useful hazard identification procedures. Such procedures can help avoid accidents and reduce worker injuries.
