The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was passed in 1990 and amended in 2008 (ADAAA). In 2015, ADA will celebrate its 25th anniversary. The act prohibits discrimination against qualified individuals based on disability. As an employer, we will cover the section on laws governing providing fair practices in employment and protection and support of qualified individuals with disabilities in the workplace. Complying with the law is essential, but actively pursuing this segment of the population is a plus both in the area of public policy and in finding a source of high quality, loyal and motivated employees.
